Moques unite to stop protest march

28 July 2010

Mosques in Bradford are uniting to attempt to stop a demonstration in the city by the controversial English Defence League.

The league, which campaigns against Islamic radicalism and has been accused by many of being a covertly racist group is planning a major demonstration on the August bank holiday.

Previous demonstrations in Birmingham and elsewhere have ended violently.

The Bradford Council of mosques say they must unite to protect the safety of our cities and communities.
